Rob Van Epps of the Davidson Lands Conservancy led a bird watching hike at Fisher Farm Park in Davidson, North Carolina on Saturday, May 14th. Adults and children alike enjoyed a misty yet beautiful morning hiking through this 200 acre jewel on the east side of Davidson. Several bird species were heard and seen, with the Common Yellowthroat and the Indigo Bunting among the most popular.
This bird watching hike was sponsored by World of Wonder! (WOW!), a joint effort of the Davidson Lands Conservancy and Woodlands Discovery. WOW! activities focus on family events that help to develop a love of the out of doors in all ages. You can tell by the looks on these children’s faces why it is so important to put away the Wii for a while and get children in nature.
